One of the newest additions to the Bowdoin athletic facility complex at Pickard Field, the state-of-the-art Bowdoin baseball field opened in March of 2024 to universal praise and is generally considered one of the top baseball-only complexes in New England. Surrounded by picturesque Maine pines, the stadium includes a field turf playing surface, accessible seating, press box, new dugouts, both clay and turf bullpens, and a new double-occupancy batting cage and will feature a scoreboard built into a seventeen-foot-high left-field wall, and is steps away from Farley Field House and Watson Arena. The Polar Bears use the facility for practices and games and the field is fully equipped for quick snow removal, if necessary, in the very early spring, as well as dark-sky compliant lighting fixtures that allow for evening practices and competitions to avoid missed class time. The press box is set up with two separate areas for game operations and full broadcast support, as well as the latest TrackMan Baseball technology, providing the most accurate ball and player tracking data possible during the games and practices.
