Wilkes' current athletics fields are comprised of nine facilities for the university's 23 varsity sports. Club programs and intramural sports at Wilkes also take advantage of the facilities. For directions to all facilities, click here.
PET POLICY
Wilkes University is concerned with providing a welcoming environment for everyone who visits the Ralston Athletic Complex. To protect the health and safety of our community members, animals not aiding individuals with disabilities are prohibited from the Ralston Athletic Complex. Individuals who bring animals to the complex in violation of this policy - even when the animal is restrained - will be required to remove the animal from campus immediately.
Ralston Athletic Complex - Schmidt Stadium

Schmidt Stadium is the home of Wilkes' football, field hockey, and men's and women's lacrosse teams. The new pressbox was added in 2011, with new stands added in 2016. The turf was most recently replaced in 2023.
Ralston Athletic Complex - Bruggeworth Field

Thanks to a leadership gift from Robert Burggeworth '83, Bruggeworth Field includes a multi-purpose turf field that will house men's and women's soccer, women's lacrosse, and field hockey, as well as a new turf baseball field. New press boxes have been installed at both locations, as well as lights and a new scoreboard. Baseball includes turf batting cages and bullpen.
Ralston Athletic Complex - Softball Stadium

Opened in 2006, the softball stadium at the Ralston Athletic Complex offers lights, an outdoor batting cage, two bullpens, large dugouts, excellent seating views, and an elevated pressbox located directly behind home plate.Â
Ralston Athletic Complex - Tennis Courts

The Ralston Athletic Complex Tennis Courts are home to Wilkes' men's and women's tennis teams and received a new playing surface in 2015.
Marts Center - Henry Gymnasium
The Marts Center, home to Wilkes' wrestling, men's and women's volleyball and men's and women's basketball teams, received a complete renovation in 2023 with a new floor, bleachers, baskets, scoreboards, LED lighting and sound system.
Marts Center - Strength and Fitness Center & Blue Room

The strength and fitness center is one of the top facilities in the MAC, with constant upgrades courtesy of SGO.
Marts Center - Wrestling Room
The wrestling room in the basement of the Marts Center is home to two full-size mats and provides the team with a dedicated practice and warm-up facility.
McHale Athletic Center
Completed in the Summer of 2006, the $8.9 million, state of the art McHale Athletic Center hosts 3 basketball courts that can be used for volleyball and tennis; a 2 lane track, high ropes course, climbing wall, locker rooms, and an athletic training room. The McHale Athletic Center is used for the general student body, intramural sports, and varsity athletics. The Leadership Institute facilitates several leadership and team building courses throughout the year in the McHale Athletic Center. Commencement is also held in the McHale Athletic Center.

Wyoming Valley Catholic Youth CenterÂ
The home of Wilkes men's and women's swimming since the fall of 2015, the CYC offers an excellent locale that includes an eight-lane pool, elevated seating, and top-of-the-line timing technology.
Toyota SportsPlex at Coal Street - Ice Hockey
The home of Wilkes men's and women's ice hockey beginning in 2018 is the Toyota SportsPlex, which is the official practice facility of the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, the AHL affiliate of the NHL's Pittsburgh Penguins. It offers a unique experience for student-athletes to rub elbows with professional athletes, not to mention a top-notch ice surface managed by a professional staff. Also included in the building are men's and women's locker rooms and a dedicated athletic training room for both teams.
