Jeffery P. Hazell Athletic Center

Located on the University of New Haven's North Campus, directly across Boston Post Road from the main New Haven campus, the Jeffery P. Hazell Athletic Center (formerly Charger Gymnasium) has long been the game site for the men's and women's basketball and volleyball teams. It houses locker rooms for all of the Chargers' varsity athletic programs, as well as the athletic administration offices, coaches offices, the sports medicine room, equipment room and the Tony Sparano Training Center.

The building has hosted numerous NCAA Regional competitions throughout the years, as well as the Special Olympics, New Haven Convocations, a number of musical concerts, and camps & clinics for the surrounding community, among other events. Most recently, the Jeffery P. Hazell Athletic Center played host to the 2018 NCAA Division II Women's Volleyball East Region Championship.

Most recent changes include the naming of the main court in the Jeffery P. Hazell Athletic Center in honor of longtime Director of Athletics Deborah Chin. At the time, the gym floor was given an upgraded look. During the summer of 2019, the Jeffery P. Hazell Athletic Center underwent a renovation that saw the replacement of the facility's original wooden bleachers with new state of the art retractable bleachers, as well as a new floor.
