Overview

Soni McAlister Field is the home of USC women’s soccer and women’s lacrosse. Thanks to a generous $150,000 donation from Hobart and Soni McAlister, a new field was built on the corner of 30th Street and Hoover Street in 1998. The field served as the home of USC soccer for 14 years before lacrosse was added as USC’s 21st varsity sport in 2012. Trojan lacrosse played its inaugural season in 2013, and hosted Massachusetts on February 10, in the historic first game on McAlister Field.

In 2000, a permanent scoreboard was installed in the southwest corner. In the summer of 2012, the field was moved east to accommodate construction of a new fire station, which put a new entrance at 30th and University Avenue.

USC Lacrosse has won nearly 80 percent of its games at McAlister Field and went undefeated there in 2015 (7-0), 2016 (9-0), and 2017 (7-0). USC also hosted one home game at the LA Memorial Coliseum in each of the program’s first five seasons and is 4-2 in the historic venue.

USC Soccer has been victorious in over 65 percent of its matches at McAlister Field, with the 2002 season representing the first time that every regular-season home game was played at the facility. Before 2002, several games were held at the Coliseum, and the Trojans have played a few select games at the Coliseum as well in the past six years.
