Warren Turner Field

2015 marked the first time the MSSU Baseball Program has played on campus in more than 40 years when the new Warren Turner Field will open on the east side of campus near Fred G. Hughes Stadium and the MSSU softball complex.

The stadium, which features seating for 600, also has a full concession stand, two luxury suites and a top-of-the line press box. Seating for all fans brings an impressive view as bleachers are installed on top of both dugouts, as well as on top of the press box, giving fans a view that not may in Division II can claim.

The field is fully turf, allowing for Southern Baseball to have fewer, if any weather delays or cancelations which has allowed them to host the 2017 & 2021 MIAA Tournament along with the 2023 NCAA Central Regional.

Overall the Lions have posted a 185-70 (.725) record, 99-50 (.664) in MIAA play and are 6-4 (.600) in MIAA Tournament games. The 100th win at the field was against Southwest Baptist on Tuesday, Mar. 19, 2019 in an 11-10 10th inning walk-off.

The first games played on the field was February 14, 2015 against Upper Iowa University. A formal dedication of the field occured on April 18, 2015. To view a photo gallery of the event, please click here (Photo Gallery).
